Oppositions View - Zola - Watford

Oppositions View - Zola - Watford
Gianfranco Zola was happy with the way his side performed in the 2-0 home win against Birmingham City, but also pointed out that there was room for improvement.

Watford wasted no time getting themselves in front when Almen Abdi netted an early penalty and fellow Udinese loanee Matej Vydra grabbed his second of the season which suggested Watford might be in for a rout.

But Blues improved in the second half although they could not find a goal to bring them back into the game.

'I was really pleased with the performance. We scored two goals, created plenty of opportunities and played plenty of good football,' said Zola to the

Press Association.

'It is a pity we couldn't keep the same rhythm in the second half and we conceded too much space to Birmingham, but that is understandable because Birmingham are a very good team.

'It is something for us to build towards in the future because once our physical condition is better then we will be able to perform like that for longer than 45 minutes.'
