Birmingham's assistant manager Terry McDermott says that he did not see the incident that lead to City's winner from the penalty spot just after half time.

Leroy Lita had already found the net for the first time in a Blues shirt to level the score, but then the trouble started when the linesman flagged for a penalty for Blues, something that Owen Coyle did not agree with.

But when asked about the incident, McDermott said to the clubs official website: 'I'm going to do my Arsene Wenger (impression) and say I didn't see it. 'And I honestly didn't!

'The linesman was in a great position and he gave it straight away, but I'll have to see it again.

'We've been on the wrong end of one or two decisions. They say they even themselves out over a season. We'll see.'


McDermott also admitted that he had seen a big change from the side that gave away a two goal lead to Nottingham Forest on Saturday.

He added: 'We had to battle today and we did.

'Bolton are going to be there or thereabouts at the end of the season and if we carry on with that effort there's no reason why we can't be up there as well.'
