Birmingham Set To Lose Davies To Bruce

Birmingham Set To Lose Davies To Bruce
Curtis Davies is set to be sold this summer and the likely destination for the player would look like the Premier League.
Davies was named player of the year for Birmingham this past season and it is no surprise that interest is coming in for the stopper.

No fee has been disclosed by Blues as a likely acceptable figure for the 28 year old however he may prove to be slightly cheaper than another player of similar stature due to the financial position of Birmingham City.

The Birmingham Mail have suggested that the deal could be a cash and player deal with Jack Hobbs coming the other way, meaning Blues aren't a man down at centre back.

Curtis Davies joined Blues for a reported figure of £3.5 million from Aston Villa in January 2011 and has since gone on to make 89 league appearances for Birmingham. He has a combined transfer fee sum of £11 million having started his career at Luton before moving to West Brom in 2008.

Jack Hobbs is 24, born in Portsmouth and stands at 6 ft 2in. he played no part at Liverpool whilst there as a trainee but has however been an integral part of a Leicester team (114 aps, 2009-11) and Hulls promotion winning side making 75 appearances since singing for them for a fee of£850,000.

Would you be happy with Davies leaving for a cash and player deal?

It seems the more sensible and safe option for Lee Clark as he attempts to hold a squad together.
