The Opposite Angle - Spurs

The Opposite Angle - Spurs

Liam aka peloquin

What are your thoughts on your season so far?

Very pleased, trying to stay optimistic, but i cant see us finishing top 4. cant see us not finishing top 6 though. we are a different team since Jol took over, and for the best. the influence some players have for us is tremendous (king, davids) and we have some players that have come in and adapted very well, such as our top scorer mido.

Who has been your Player of the season so far?

Tough call, probably Ledley King or Paul Robinson

Who has been the worst player of the season so far?

Jermain Defoe hasnt scored enough, Jermaine Jenas loses the ball too much. i think both will find their feet before the season is over.

What has been the best game you've seen so far this season?

A combination, the last half of the Charlton game when we came back from 2-0 down to win 3-2, and the first half against Arsenal, where we dominated, but didnt keep it up after the break and ended up drawing 1-1.

Who would you like to sign in January?

Maybe a new striker, we have plenty of midfielders. i think the weakest point in the team is left back, Young-Pyo is good going forward, but not as good at the back, so i guess i'd say a new left back, which i doubt will happen. if any of our strikers left, i would expect a replacement to be brought in.

Who would you like to see leave?

Another tough one... i would say we could cash in on Sean Davis, Pedro Mendes, Nourredine Naybet, Stephen Kelly (contract expires) and Michael Brown, although i certainly cant see all of those players leaving. i think davis and mendes will leave.

Match Prediction?

i have a soft spot for Brum, and hope they make it out of trouble this season, but i am confident that we will win this game... if we were away i might think a draw but i can see us getting a comfortable win here, 2-0 to the good guys!

What are your thoughts on your season so far?
I am extremely happy with what has gone on so far this season at Spurs. Only 2 losses in the league, 1 against Chelsea, the other a game we definately did not deserve to lose against Bolton. We are sitting 4th in the table and under Martin Jol, things seem to be looking good. We seem to be more of a competative unit, and we seem hard to beat which is a good thing. Lately we seem to be conceding a bit too many goals for my liking, 3 against Boro and 2 against Sunderland so hopefully we will keep a clean sheet on Boxing Day, obviously at your expense.

Who has been your Player of the season so far?
Tough one really. I have been impressed with a few players. King and Carrick have been superb. Ledley King is a rock at the back, he is extremely solid. Carrick has so much class in midfield its unbelievable and his range of passing is stunning. They are probably the main two names. But honourable mentions have to go to Mido and Jermaine Jenas who seem to be getting better and better as the season progresses. Michael Dawson and Edgar Davids have been quality aswell. The list could go on.

Who has been the worst player of the season so far?
I'll have to go for someone who has played. Either Michael Brown or Andy Reid, they are useless. Thats all I can say. Saying that, they aren't regulars. So out of the first XI, maybe Defoe, he doesn't really have his shooting boots on, but he is injured for the Birmingham game anyway.

What has been the best game you've seen so far this season?
Charlton at the Valley. 2-0 down at half time and to turn it around and win was great. It is usually us on the end of those sorts of defeats, but we did very well.

Who would you like to sign in January?
A Centre half. Ideally it would be John Terry, but that is never going to happen. Ron Vlaar from AZ is supposed to be joining in January and he is highly rated in Holland. With Dawson and King in the starting XI we have very little in back-up so it would be nice to have a good player like Vlaar signing. Also, Kuyt from Feyenoord would be fantastic, it gives Mido some competition and he is a goal machine in Holland, but saying that, so was Kezman!

Who would you like to see leave?
Brown, Reid, Davis

Match Prediction?
2-0

What are your thoughts on your season so far?
Superb so far. We are sitting 4th, 5 points clear of Arsenal and we haven't even reached top gear yet. Only disppointment has been the loss to Grimsby in the Carling Cup

Who has been your Player of the season so far?
Well its hard to choose between 3 players, Robinson, King and Carrick. Robbo has made some superb saves which have helped us to win games, king has been a rock at the back and a good captain, but I would have to choose Carrick. He hasn't had a bad game yet, he is our best midfielder, his passing and positioning has been superb and has made some vital tackles. He also scored a superb winner against Sunderland.

Who has been the worst player of the season so far?
I would probaly have to say Andy Reid. He really doesn't seem to have made the step up from championship level and often looks out of place and unfit.

What has been the best game you've seen so far this season?
Definitely has to be beatcing Charlton 3-2 after being 2-0 down at the Valley and whilst they were on a good run. Such a great comeback showed a lot of grit and determination, something that has often been missing in Tottenham teams of the past, but is now very much a vital aspect of this team.

Who would you like to sign in January?
Ronaldinho :) . But I would settle for a decent left sided winger, perhaps Robben, and a striker similair to Kanoute, such as Dirk Kuyt.

Who would you like to see leave?
Well we do need a bit of a clearout in midfield. I want Andy Reid and Johnnie Jackson to go. I can also see Davis, Brown and Mendes leaving, although ideally it would be nice to keep them.

Match Prediction?
I have to go for 2-0 to us. Can't see us scoring 3 goals or more for the fourth game in a row, but I do think we will win comfortably.
